Just when the caterpillar thought that the world was over, it became a butterfly.
I have been talking to some individuals who shared with me how frustrated they were with their lives because they felt stuck. They felt that they were merely surviving, “killing time” as someone put it! I could relate to this because I had been there at some point in my life. I felt that I was just going through the motion and not seeing any noticeable results in my life. I felt like the goals that I had set for myself were just another exercise in futility. Thank God, I saw the light! Thank God! There is a way to get unstuck. The problem is that many people do not survive the journey from being unstuck to being full of faith. Just as with the caterpillar that goes on to become a butterfly, there are several stages that you would go through as you try to become unstuck:
- Frozen: At this stage, you are aware that you are stuck but you feel like you cannot move. You can’t seem to make any move even if you knew what to do.
- Frustrated: As you increase in your awareness of the fact that you are frozen, you become frustrated. This stage is known as “silent frustration”. You feel trapped, frozen and muzzled because you cannot talk to anyone about it.
- Fearful: After the “silent frustration” stage, you come to your senses and realize that you need to do something about it. However, you find yourself flooded with fears, all kinds of fears. This is where most people quit and revert right back to the frozen state. A few people decide to press through the terror barrier and move forward.
- Fretful: When you go past your fears, you feel excited but anxious! By that time, you realize that you have wasted so much time that you are almost running out of time. This is the fretting stage. You are like a boxer waiting to get on the ring. The only problem is that you may not know what to do or you may find yourself with too many options. This is when you need to remember and apply the Law of Focus.
- Focused: At this stage, you realize that you cannot do everything or go everywhere at once. Applying the Law of Focus means that you have to stop doing some things so that you can find time and energy to do the things that would help you move forward toward your goal.
- Faith-filled! This is where you get the revelation of what faith is. Faith is the promise before the promise. Faith is the breakthrough before the breakthrough. Faith sees the end and gets excited. This is where your life takes a turn for the best! You realize that your best is yet to come and that your current position is not an indication of your future potential but only the result of the way you have been thinking. This is when you decide to take action. This is when you decide to take a leap of faith out of that place where you were stuck! This is where you rise like a butterfly toward sweeter pastures!
